Taylor Lindsay-Noel | SCII live in Toronto, Canada, and for years, I struggled to find physiotherapy or exercise that truly challenged my body with trainers who also understood how to properly work with someone who has a spinal cord injury. Over the last eight years, I’ve visited TPS several times. Every time I go to California, usually in the summer for a couple of months, I make it a priority to return. The best part of my experience has been seeing the transformation in my strength, learning alongside other clients, and feeling a real sense of community with people facing similar challenges. The relationships I formed with my trainers, especially Ashton, have been incredibly meaningful. Through TPS, I became stronger physically. Mentally, I felt better - when my body feels good, my mind follows. And emotionally, I felt seen and understood in a world that is not always accommodating to people with spinal cord injuries. It has always been worth the time and financial investment; I know it’s somewhere I’ll continue to go for the rest of my life.

Adler Caudle | SCIBefore coming to TPS, I was struggling to understand the basic functions of my body after my SCI. My first stay at TPS lasted 4 months, and I’ve since returned twice, once for 7 weeks and again for 5 weeks. What stood out most was the community. The friendships I’ve built with both clients and specialists have been a true blessing. My greatest progress came from getting my body back to an active state, which helped restore my overall health. TPS was absolutely worth the time and investment. The knowledge you gain about how your body works is invaluable, and the relationships you form there are irreplaceable

Stefanie Schaffer | SCII live in Burlington, Vermont. Before coming to TPS, I was struggling to understand and accept the reality of my spinal cord injury. Physically, I faced weakness from both the injury and surgeries, and I was trying to rebuild my strength. My first stay lasted about 3 months, and since then I’ve returned as often as possible - about five more times. The best part of that first visit was how the trainers pushed me to my limits in a safe and fun way. They showed me what I was capable of and helped me make the most of every session. During that time, I made significant progress. I gained enough strength and confidence to take steps with forearm crutches, and just as importantly, I grew emotionally - accepting my injury and finding a supportive community of people who understood my journey. My time at TPS was absolutely worth the investment. It truly changed my life, and I don’t believe I could have made the same physical, mental, or emotional progress anywhere else.
