TERRY WEBB
Injury/Diagnosis: SCI T8-12 + Chiari Malformation
Date of injury/diagnosis: October 2017
Start date in the program: 6/2021
I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia (throughout entire spine) in 2009. Shortly after my first brain surgery in 2010, I continued to become weak and multiple diagnoses of other multiple illnesses would follow. In total, since March of 2010, I have received 22 brain and spinal cord surgeries. Because of so many surgeries and many complications, each time, I would become weaker and more unstable. The ultimate injury to my spinal cord happened during a surgery on October 3, 2017 which caused paralysis in my legs after removing arachnoid cysts. My goals are to be independent so that I can live on my own. My ultimate goal is to walk again! I have been working on my transfers more, and little by little I am gaining the ability to do that more on my own. I would like if Be Perfect could help me attain the ability to be physically and mentally fit so that I can drive one day, using an adaptive device in order to have my independence, as well as getting my posture better to prepare me for the ultimate goal of walking!
